Our aim
This website aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What we have done
- Every page works with a keyboard alone, with a clear focus ring, and starts with a “Skip to content” link.
- The site plan can be used by keyboard, by touch or by mouse, and every plot is also in a plain list. Plot status is shown by colour, pattern and words, never by colour alone.
- Text and buttons meet AA colour contrast. Text can be enlarged to 200% and the pages reflow down to 320 pixels wide.
- Photos have descriptions. Manufacturers' photos are labelled as such.
- Forms have visible labels, say which fields are optional, and list any problems at the top with links to the fields.
- Nothing opens by itself and nothing flashes. The home page's opening animation and its short silent film do not play if your device asks for reduced motion, and the film has a pause button.
- Key information is in the page itself, not only in images or scripts, and the main pages work without JavaScript.
What is not perfect yet
- 3D tours open on Matterport's website, which may not work well with a screen reader. Ask us for a description of any lodge instead.
- The Google map, if you choose to show it, comes from Google and may be hard to use with some assistive technology. The address and directions are on the page as text.
- The plot plan artwork itself is a picture; the list below it gives the same information as text.
Ask for another format, or tell us about a problem
Call 0800 999 8484 (freephone), email chivenor@serenityparks.co.uk, or ask Alex Angus on 07746 562302. We can read out prices and details over the phone, or send them in large print. We usually reply the same day.
How we tested
In October 2026 we checked every page with automated accessibility tests (axe-core) at three screen widths (375, 768 and 1440 pixels), and by hand with a keyboard and at 200% zoom. Automated tools find only some problems. We have not yet tested with screen readers; we plan to do so in November 2026 and will update this statement then.
