Using Your Holiday Lodge (the holiday rules) at Chivenor Park FAQ’s
You are not permitted to use your holiday lodge as your primary or permanent residence, but there are no restrictions on how often or how long you can spend there on holiday during the season. You must have a permanent residential address. It is not necessary for your primary residential address to be in the UK; it just must be verified.
Of course, people get ill on holiday and may use the local doctor as a temporary patient. It should not be necessary for someone with a main residence elsewhere to register with the doctor for holiday periods unless they have health requirements.
Being retired does not mean you are on holiday. The test is whether you have a main residence elsewhere.
The season at Chivenor Park runs from 1st March to 31st January (11 months). The park is closed during February.
Yes, but all the facts are relevant when deciding whether the overseas property or the lodge is your main residence. These would include whether you own the overseas property or, if it is rented, then how long you have rented it for, how much time you spend in the lodge and how much in the overseas property.
Buying a Holiday Lodge at Chivenor Park FAQ’s
The space/base where the holiday lodge is situated on the park is called a pitch. The “concrete base” of your pitch is the park owner’s responsibility, along with the connection to the parks services; however, when you have selected your pitch and purchased your new holiday lodge, you are responsible for maintaining the lodge and your pitch.
If you wish to reserve a lodge, you will need to make an initial deposit of £2,000.00, which is nonrefundable after 14 days.
Pitch fees at Chivenor Park are £400 per month (inclusive of VAT).
We are not a credit broker nor a lender, however financial arrangements are available to purchase holiday lodges, and we will be able to point you in the right direction for this.
Once you have chosen your make and model of lodge, and the pitch location, we then arrange transport and siting of the lodge. We ensure the lodge is connected to all the parks services, and ensure the lodge is tested and certified. We provide front and rear steps alongside the under skirting to the lodge. We also provide a dedicated driveway to the lodge. Everything mentioned above can be customised to your preferences; if you would like to alter any of these, there may be extra fees.
